Mexico City (August 1986)

This is the inside of the Metropolitan Church in Mexico City, Mexico. It is the largest church in Mexico.

Taken from an opposing rooftop, we are looking down on the Monument of National Independence, at the end of the Paseo de la Reforma; it symbolizes Mexican freedom from Spanish colonial rule. This was also taken in Mexico City.

This is the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, located on the northernmost edge of Mexico City. Notice how it is sinking into the ground? That's why they were building a new one (not pictured) adjacent to it when we were there.
