Montreal (July 2001)

For Fourth of July, Roberta and I decided to head North of the Border and visit Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This is a shot down one of the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, or as the locals would say, Vieux Montreal.

The Fourth of July weekend turned out to be perfect timing. It was the same week that Montreal was hosting its annual International Jazz Festival, which had at least six to eight stages in walking distance from our hotel. Here's one; it's hard to make out, but you can see the stage, and the lighted sign off to the left.

This is a beautiful shot just by the waterside near Old Montreal, down at the Old Port. You could see the old buildings by the waterside, and the newer high-rise buildings in the distance: a really neat contrast.
