Cobalt
Blue/Papa Beedo
Papa
Beedo claimed not to remember anything before waking up next to
a bottle of Rodian ale well into his mid-life. Nonetheless, he
seemed to be a powerful man with a quiet purpose. At first, few
were sure what to make of the Ithorian. Despite little interest
in monetary concerns, he fell into a plot to rob a Huttese
Nar Shadda casino. Despite the catastrophic failure of that endeavor,
Beedo maintained links to the smugglers Fabius
Kane and Donovan, and
the droid, IL-1D20.
Whatever
intentions Beedo had in joining the other notorious criminals,
he proved himself to be a deceptively powerful Force-user. He
also has been heard to remark that the galaxy was sick and that
he must help heal it.
Papa
Beedo showed no love for the Empire. He almost joined a resurgent
rebel force at the behest of Winter, but chose otherwise when
Kane seemed not interested. However, things steered that way inevitably,
as Beedo, Kane, Donovan, and the Ortolan, Spid
Dövan, later joined the Syndicate: joining a de facto
Outlaw's Rebellion.
After
joining the Syndicate, Beedo assumed the identity
of Cobalt Blue, a blue-skinned (through skin dye) Ithorian
pop singer. With Kane and Donovan as his pilots and Dövan as
his cook, he traveled in the luxury liner, Blue
Streak, as a cover for their clandestine operations,
not the least of which was the rescue of ex-Rebellion
leader, Mon
Mothma.
Tragically,
this persona was cut off abruptbly, when Cobalt died aboard Center
Point Station, just prior to The
Corellian Disaster. Almost killed by the High Inquisitor Tremayne's
lightsaber attack, he still would have died had Dövan not
saved him from falling. Sadly, an enraged Kane was the one who
accidentally dealt the fatal blow while trying to blast Tremayne.
