R2-D2

Possessed of a longer history than nearly anyone alive could guess, R2-D2 has been present at nearly almost every turning point in history since before even the Old Rebuplic's Clone Wars. This droid has been owned by a variety of remarkable owners, not the least of which have been Queen Amidala of Naboo, Princess Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker.

Currently the astromech droid serves alongside his long-time companion C-3P0, in the employ of Han Solo and Chewbacca. What role the droid plays in future events, remains to be seen, but he will probably save the galaxy again, like he always does.
